ZGC Forum highlights women's role in shaping a high-tech future

The 2026 Forum on Women in Sci-Tech Innovation, a key parallel session at the Zhongguancun (ZGC) Forum, was held in Beijing on Saturday, highlighting the vital contributions and untapped potential of women innovators.

Themed "Innovation for Brightness, Technology for Good," the event attracted around 400 guests, including prominent female scientists from China and abroad, as well as aspiring female students.

Huang Xiaowei, secretary of the leading Party members' group of the All-China Women's Federation, highlighted the unprecedented opportunities for women in tech presented by Chinese modernization. She called on women globally to tackle challenges, drive innovation, and make meaningful technological contributions to society.

Wu Jing, a member of the leading Party members' group of the Ministry of Science and Technology, noted that the ministry prioritizes support for female tech talent and aims to foster a favorable environment for their development, ensuring equal participation and growth across various fields.

Luo Hui, a member of the leading Party members' group of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), emphasized the organization's commitment to advancing the careers of female scientists. She stated that CAST will continue to champion the growth of female tech workers, empowering them to contribute to a shared future for humanity.

The forum also featured a mentor-mentee dialogue and a panel discussion in which five experts from diverse sectors shared their experiences and insights.
