Designed by the renowned Stefano Boeri Architetti, the Milan Garden of Italy will be a stunning landmark at the 15th China (Wenzhou) International Garden Expo scheduled to open from April to July in Wenzhou, Zhejiang province.
Spanning 2,500 square meters, the garden integrates Italian architectural heritage with Wenzhou's landscapes.
The design creates a vertical landscape, merging the topography of Italian terraces with the natural curves of local rice terraces. Ochre-red stone walls evoke the warmth of Tuscany, while sleek colonnades honor the architectural essence of the Renaissance.
By utilizing transparent glass curtain walls, the boundary between indoors and outdoors vanishes, allowing the surrounding nature to flow into the Italian-styled spaces. A verdant rooftop garden crowns the building, weaving Mediterranean flora with native Wenzhou plants into an ecological tapestry.
The garden is more than an exhibition; it is an immersive space where visitors can enjoy a cup of Italian espresso on a chair, experiencing the unique blend of Italian elegance and the local tranquility.
Alessia Raisi, an Italian visitor, said the garden is filled with love and passion. She also said she hopes global visitors will come to Wenzhou to experience the fresh air, green ecology, and unique architecture.
