To actively implement the Global Civilization Initiative, promote the common values of humanity–peace, development, fairness, justice, democracy and freedom, consolidate the cultural foundation for building a global community of shared future, and facilitate exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations, China International Communications Group (CICG) has established the Orchid Awards. The Awards cover cultural sectors and recognize foreign nationals (or organizations) worldwide that are committed to promoting international exchange of Chinese culture and have made outstanding contributions to advancing exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations. The selection of the Orchid Awards adheres to the principles of professionalism, authority, fairness and openness.
CICG hereby announces the relevant matters concerning the solicitation of candidates for the Third Orchid Awards as follows:
I. Organization

II. Categories of Awards
The Orchid Awards are open to foreign nationals (or organizations) worldwide. Based on achievements, contributions and international influence, three categories are established: Lifetime Honorary Award, Outstanding Achievement Award and Friendship Envoy Award.
1.Lifetime Honorary Award
This Award is granted to foreign nationals who have long been committed to the development and progress of human civilization, have made significant contributions to promoting exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations, and enjoy high prestige and international reputation.
2.Outstanding Achievement Award
This Award is granted to foreign nationals (or organizations) who have long been engaged in international exchange of Chinese culture, made outstanding contributions, achieved landmark results, and exerted broad international influence.
3.Friendship Envoy Award
This Award is granted to foreign nationals (or organizations) who continuously promote cultural exchange and cooperation, foster people-to-people connectivity, and have made innovative and distinctive contributions in relevant fields.
A total of 10 recipients will be selected for the Third Orchid Awards, including one for the Lifetime Honorary Award, three for the Outstanding Achievement Award, and six for the Friendship Envoy Award. CICG will present certificates, trophies and cash awards to the winners. The cash awards for the three categories are RMB 300,000, RMB 200,000 and RMB 100,000 respectively (all after tax) for each individual (or organization).
III. Eligibility
Potential candidates are expected to:
1.Demonstrate global vision and authentic love for humanity, uphold the common values of humanity: peace, development, fairness, justice, democracy and freedom, and embrace the vision of a global community of shared future;
2.Work in cultural sectors, including but not limited to literature, art, film and television, publishing, translation, education, science and technology, health, media, digital culture, and international cultural exchange;
3.Actively engage in promoting Chinese culture, make representative, marked and leading achievements in related fields, and demonstrate certain international influence;
4.In principle, previous Orchid Awards winners are ineligible to be candidates for three years.
IV. Nomination
1.Recommendation
(1) Recommendation by an organization
Relevant institutions in cultural sectors, international organizations, Chinese embassies and consulates abroad, foreign embassies and consulates in China, and related non-governmental organizations may recommend candidates.
(2) Recommendation by previous winners
Previous Orchid Awards winners may recommend candidates. Each recommender may nominate no more than one candidate and must provide written recommendations.
2.Self-Recommendation
Foreign nationals (or organizations) may submit application materials directly to the Orchid Awards Secretariat. Written recommendation letters from two authoritative figures in relevant fields shall be provided.
V. Submission
Application documents shall be submitted to the Orchid Awards Secretariat. Applicants should log into the application system on a computer: https://ai.china.com.cn/lanhua/works and complete the required information. Upon completion, the system will generate an application form, which must be downloaded, printed, stamped or signed, and submitted as a scanned copy. For candidates recommended by individuals or self-recommended, signed or stamped recommendation letters must be submitted.
The deadline for submission is May 15, 2026. Late submissions will not be accepted.
Please prepare the following materials before completing the application:
1.Description of major achievements (800—1000 words, in both Chinese and English);
2.Personal ID photo, work photos, daily life photos, or photos reflecting the achievements of the organization (3—5 images in JPG format, each no less than 800 KB);
3.Individuals are required to provide the front page of a passport, and organizations are required to provide the organization’s incorporation documents and the front page of the passport of the legal representative (scanned copies in JPG format);
4.Scanned copies of recommendation letters for self-recommended applicants and those recommended by previous winners, in PDF format).
VI. Winners
CICG will organize an Expert Committee consisting of Chinese and foreign professionals to select winners. The list of winners shall be disclosed on the official website of CICG and shall be officially announced at an awarding ceremony.
