The fourth China (Anhui) Science and Technology Innovation Achievement Transformation Fair opened Sunday in Hefei, Anhui province, where a record 892 science and technology achievements were unveiled.

The three-day fair boasts a collection of 4,244 science and technology achievements, and has selected 2,871 projects from more than 1,000 institutions for on-site exhibition. Among them, 892 are making their debuts at the event, accounting for more than 30% of the total.

This year's event featured Shanghai as the guest province of honor for the first time, in a move to further promote innovation cooperation across the Yangtze River Delta.

The exhibits highlight major trends, including the rapid development of the intelligent economy, the accelerated commercialization of advanced research, and the rise of future-oriented industries.

Technologies such as multimodal AI and intelligent sensing are being applied across scenarios ranging from industrial production to public services, while advances in nuclear fusion energy, quantum technology, and brain-computer interfaces are also on display.

One of the debut exhibits is a high-efficiency linear screw compressor technology, a key piece of equipment for future-oriented industries such as hydrogen energy and nuclear fusion.

Hu Zhongjun, a researcher at the Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, said the independently developed technology has been applied in liquid hydrogen production for commercial aerospace, controlled nuclear fusion experiments, and the operation of superconducting accelerators for major scientific facilities.

In its fourth session since 2021, the fair has attracted participants from government departments, universities, research institutes, tech firms, and investment institutions. It has facilitated 780 technology transfer deals, with a total value of nearly 230 billion yuan ($33.68 billion).
