25,000 sign up for 2026 Baku Marathon

Around 25,000 runners from over a dozen countries and regions have registered for the 2026 Baku Marathon, scheduled for May 3, organizers said on Tuesday.

The event, held for the ninth time under the slogan "Win the Wind," will for the first time cover the full 42-kilometer marathon distance. The race will start at State Flag Square and conclude at Sea Breeze Resort.

Registered participants include athletes from Azerbaijan, the United States, Germany, China, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Russia, Türkiye and Ukraine. Runners with physical disabilities and learning difficulties will also compete.
