A dialogue on integrating Eastern acrobatics and Western ballet was held recently in Moscow as part of China-Russia cultural exchange activities, with the acrobatic production "Swan" serving as a bridge for artistic cooperation.

The event brought together artists, young creators and cultural figures from China and Russia to discuss cross-disciplinary integration and innovation in the performing arts. The centerpiece was "Swan," a production by the Guangzhou Acrobatic Troupe of China that recently completed a successful run at Moscow's Bolshoi Theatre during the theater's 250th anniversary celebrations.

Deng Yanlei, publicity officer for "Swan," shared the production's creative journey and explained how the show moves beyond a simple fusion of Chinese acrobatics and Russian ballet, achieving deeper integration through performance language, aesthetic expression and emotional storytelling.

Renowned Russian sculptor Grigory Viktorovich Pototsky described the production as "dynamic sculpture with the body as its medium," saying it provided fresh inspiration for his artistic practice and cross-disciplinary exploration.

Russian digital content creator Emmanuelle Mikhailovna Turetskaya said young creators and new media play a key role in promoting cultural exchange between the two countries.

Luo Shaoteng, a young artist from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, said cross-cultural exchange has enriched his understanding of cultural identity and artistic creation.

Opera singer Xing Kaizheng, the only Chinese member of Russia's M. Turetsky Choir, shared his experiences promoting Chinese art in Russia and said audiences responded enthusiastically to "Swan" at the Bolshoi Theatre.

Organizers said the event deepened artistic exchange and injected fresh momentum into China-Russia cultural cooperation.
