The 2026 Zhangbei Grassland Music Festival will be held from July 17 to 19 on the Zhangbei Grassland in north China's Hebei province, according to a press conference today in Beijing.
Over three days, 24 artists and bands will perform across pop, rock, rap, and folk at the festival, themed "Ride the Waves to the Grasslands: Wild in Zhangbei."
The lineup includes Wowkie Zhang, Li Yuchun, Wilber Pan, Zhang Bichen, Hu Xia, Yip Sai Wing, Second Hand Rose and Meikader. Two major mystery guests have also been reserved, along with a fan challenge campaign on Douyin, Weibo, and Xiaohongshu.
The main stage covers 2,600 square meters, featuring an extended T-zone and VIP area. Technologies such as holographic projection and naked-eye 3D will be used. Beyond camping and food zones, the festival will incorporate local Bashang culture, grassland camping, folk experiences, and a gourmet carnival.
A 100,000-square-meter temporary parking lot can hold 30,000 vehicles, with shuttle buses from commercial areas, bus stations, and the high-speed rail station. Emergency plans, medical services, smart restrooms, and luggage storage are also in place.
Ticket options include early-bird, regular, and VIP passes, with sales expected at the end of May on Damai and Maoyan Live. A real-name and facial recognition system will be enforced.
Founded in 2009 and now in its 15th edition, the festival has become a benchmark for outdoor music events in China and a key cultural tourism brand of the Beijing-Zhangjiakou Sports and Tourism Belt.
