Deep in the misty mountains of Nijiangkou Town, Cai Jianbo, a 43-year-old bamboo farmer, spends 360 days a year tending to his lush forests. Contracting over 20 hectares of bamboo groves since the age of 18, Cai's long-term dedication has turned into a lucrative business, netting nearly US$15,000–17,000 per hectare annually.
