At the 22nd China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair held in Shenzhen from May 21-25, nine cultural and creative enterprises from Longgang city in Zhejiang province showcased designer toys and creative products, putting a spotlight on the city's transformation from China's "Printing City" into an emerging hub for creative consumer goods.
Among the exhibitors was Wenzhou Jiufu Industrial Co. Ltd., a local company specializing in magnetic souvenirs and creative products. The firm has developed nearly 1,000 copyrighted designs, and its original refrigerator magnets are sold at tourist attractions across China. Its products feature wooden, acrylic and metal designs that are both practical and visually appealing. The company brought to the fair a selection of its signature products, aiming to showcase its design capabilities and explore new opportunities in the cultural products market.
"Our lantern-themed magnet is the centerpiece of this year's exhibition," said Liang Xiaoli, manager of the company. "The product offers enhanced interactivity, fine metalwork, and customizable designs that can reflect the unique cultural identity of different cities."
Another participant, Wenzhou Fengfei Technology Co. Ltd., specializes in acrylic crafts and customized merchandise. The company has established a solid foothold in the cultural merchandise market through its product lines for globally renowned IPs, including Sanrio and Harry Potter. At the fair, it showcased products tied to its "Small City, Big Stories" IP while seeking new business partnerships.
Longgang's delegation set up a 300-square-meter exhibition pavilion under the theme "Love Designer Toys, Visit Longgang." The exhibition focused on three key sectors, covering digital printing, cultural IP development, and packaging and stationery. It also highlighted areas such as IP licensing, creative product design and packaging innovation. The showcase aimed to demonstrate the strengths of Longgang's cultural enterprises and underscore how the city is revitalizing its traditional printing industry through the growth of creative and designer-toy businesses.
