
China will increase funding for urban renewal in 2026, a National Development and Reform Commission official said at a Monday policy briefing. A total of 97 billion yuan (US$14.3 billion) will be allocated to renovate old urban residential communities and dilapidated housing, benefiting about 8 million households. Another 160 billion yuan will be earmarked for the upgrading of underground pipeline networks.
