Chongqing's 1st steel structure shipment reaches Thailand in 4 days via China-Laos-Thailand train

On June 14, green building materials produced by Honglu Steel Structure made their maiden journey aboard the China-Laos-Thailand cross-border railway freight service, part of the new international land sea trade corridor. The shipment, destined for Map Ta Phut Station in Thailand, marks the first time that steel structure products from Chongqing have been exported to Thailand via this rail route.

The transport was organized as a dedicated service aligned with the company's orders and production schedule. A total of 500 tons of products, valued at 2.5 million yuan, will be moved in batches.

On the afternoon of June 14, flatbed trucks carrying railway containers departed from Nanchuan district, Chongqing, for the Tuanjie Village Central Station in the city's main urban area. There, they were loaded onto the China Laos Thailand freight train for the outbound journey. The entire route stretches about 2,900 kilometers and is expected to take roughly four days to reach its destination.

Previously, exporters in Nanchuan relied mainly on road transport for Southeast Asian markets. The new rail option significantly improves efficiency. Zhang Xin, workshop director of Honglu Steel Structure's No. 6 plant, noted: "The China Laos Thailand railway not only saves time and lowers costs but also allows much larger single shipment volumes compared to road haulage."

The regular operation of this rail corridor provides Chongqing with a faster, more convenient logistics channel for tapping into Southeast Asian markets. As the new international land sea trade corridor continues to expand, more "Made in Nanchuan" products are expected to go global via this route.
