China's first homegrown offshore welding robots begin operations in Tianjin

Editor's note: China has put its first batch of domestically developed intelligent welding robots for offshore engineering into operation at the Tianjin Intelligent Manufacturing Base of Offshore Oil Engineering Co., Ltd. (COOEC).

Designed for complex welding tasks on offshore oil and gas platforms and deepwater structures, the system integrates AI-powered visual recognition, intelligent path planning and adaptive welding technologies.

The deployment marks a milestone for intelligent manufacturing in China's offshore energy sector.
