Deep supply chain integration and cross-industry collaboration are central to Chinese automaker Seres Group's growth strategy, said Clifford Kang, director of the Board and vice president of the company, on Tuesday during the fourth China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) in Beijing.
Speaking with China.org.cn, Kang said the company is showcasing its full lineup of AITO vehicles and its supply chain achievements at the expo, which runs from June 22 to 26, alongside six core supply chain partners.
"These partners are all key suppliers of the AITO M9. The delivery of 290,000 AITO M9 vehicles would not have been possible without their support," Kang said.
He said the all-new AITO M9, launched earlier this year, received more than 20,000 pre-orders within 24 hours and has already begun nationwide deliveries.
Seres has been working to integrate its products, consolidate manufacturing and build industry clusters, Kang said.
He said the company has built a "1+2+N" collaborative ecosystem centered on its cross-industry partnership with Huawei and supported by numerous leading suppliers. The AITO M9, for instance, is equipped with CATL power batteries, as well as Huawei's Qiankun ADS intelligent driving system and HarmonySpace 6 intelligent cockpit system.
Under this model, partners jointly design, develop and manufacture products. The number of tier-one suppliers has been streamlined from 300 to 100, including 20 world-class suppliers, improving efficiency and coordination across the supply chain.
Kang also highlighted Seres' pioneering "Factory-Within-a-Factory" model, which integrates key suppliers directly into its manufacturing facilities. "This model not only shortens physical distances but also enables seamless coordination from component production to vehicle assembly," he said.
Reflecting on this year's CISCE, Kang said the event has brought together high-quality global resources and cutting-edge technologies, closely aligning with its theme of "Connecting the World for a Shared Future."
"It provides a platform for companies to exchange ideas, pursue innovation and strengthen cooperation, while promoting stronger links and complementary advantages across industrial and supply chains," he noted.
Kang emphasized that Seres highly values the opportunities offered by the CISCE and will continue to work with its supply chain partners to build better vehicles and drive the high-quality development of the automotive industry.
Hosted by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, CISCE has been held annually since 2023. The event spans six sectors — digital technology, advanced manufacturing, green agriculture, healthy life, smart vehicles and clean energy — along with a dedicated supply chain services area.
