At the expo's AI Zone, visitors gathered around Anhui Jiexun's smart sorting machine, which separates healthy beans from discolored or misshapen ones in a fraction of a second.

"This is our second time participating in the expo. Last year we were in the Green Agriculture Chain, and this year we were recommended to the Digital Technology Chain," said Zhu Hongkai, brand marketing manager of Anhui Jiexun Optoelectronic Technology Co. Ltd.

"CISCE is really great," Zhu added. "We value not only its scale and profile, but also its unique role in connecting businesses across the globe. It truly allows us to reach international companies right at our doorstep. Through the expo, we can also better understand global market trends."

The company's intelligent sorting machine uses AI cameras to detect color, shape and size defects at high speed. Jiexun said the system is now used as a quality control tool in more than 100 countries and regions, handling products ranging from rice and tea to recycled materials.

"After participating in last year's expo, we made a leap from selling single devices to providing full production line solutions, and it opened up many opportunities for us," Zhu said. "The expo really is a place to find partners and find solutions."

Founded 26 years ago, Jiexun is a provider of intelligent sorting solutions across food safety, industrial manufacturing and renewable resources.

The company also introduced Jiexun Cloud Control, an intelligent sorting and automation solution for food processing. The initiative was recognized as "internationally leading" by members of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, including Sun Baoguo and Jin Zhengyu.

Jiexun counts Yihai Kerry, COFCO, Sinograin and Luhua among its clients, and also serves customers processing Vietnamese cashew nuts, Indonesian coffee beans and Japanese dehydrated vegetables.

The fourth CISCE ran from June 22-26 in Beijing.
