Chinese Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao said China hopes the Dutch side will create a fair, just and predictable environment for Chinese enterprises investing in the Netherlands, and maintain the stability of semiconductor industrial and supply chains, according to a news release by the Chinese commerce ministry on Wednesday.

"The Chinese Ministry of Commerce is willing to strengthen cooperation with the Dutch side in areas such as advanced manufacturing, technological innovation, green transition and modern services," Wang said, while adding that the ministry also hopes the Dutch side will promote the proper resolution of disputes involving relevant companies.

"China welcomes Dutch enterprises to invest in China and share the country's large market," Wang remarked during the 18th meeting of the China-Netherlands Joint Economic and Trade Committee held in Beijing on Tuesday.

During this meeting, the two sides had a candid and in-depth exchange of views on China-Netherlands and China-EU economic and trade relations, the news release noted.

Wang said a joint statement coming out of the first meeting of the China-EU trade and investment consultation mechanism held last week had confirmed that as key trade partners, both China and the EU had agreed to stabilize their bilateral relationship and make it more balanced. "We hope the Dutch government will play a positive and constructive role within the EU, encouraging the EU to work in the same direction as China and to manage differences through dialogue and consultation."
