Leveraging the research resources of Peking University, Longgang Advanced Quantum Technology Research Institute is deeply cultivating the frontier fields of quantum science. By driving core technological research and integrating it deeply with local industries, the institute has given a boost to the transformation and upgrading of Longgang's traditional sectors.
The institute has been improving quantum measurement accuracy though calibrating the lasing state of quantum frequency-selective semiconductor lasers and testing key metrics such as laser frequency stability and linewidth,
"The core breakthrough in this field is to significantly improve measurement accuracy," said Wei Qiang, executive dean of the institute.
He said, supported by atomic and quantum technology, measurement accuracy can leap by 10 to 1,000 times compared to traditional methods.
The institute focuses on cutting-edge research such as quantum precision measurement and laser spectroscopy. By harnessing Peking University's formidable scientific prowess and advantages brought by Longgang's industrial transformation, it aims to drive the iterative upgrading of the quantum technology industry through laser and optoelectronic technologies.
The laser equipment and quantum technologies developed by the institute can not only be applied to frontier fields such as gravimeters and magnetometers but also meet the needs of Longgang's industries, such as printing, packaging, and new materials.
Quantum sensor technology, for example, can be deeply integrated into temperature, gravity, and pressure sensing links in traditional printing production lines, significantly enhancing production line perception accuracy and autonomous manufacturing capabilities.
Established in January this year, Longgang Advanced Quantum Technology Research Institute has utilized the Peking University-Longgang laboratory as a vital platform to tackle core technologies in quantum precision measurement and facilitate industrialization.
"We are currently going all out to replicate the core technologies of Peking University," Wei said, "Once the technology is validated, we will focus on product manufacturing processes, facilitating the localized production and the promotion of products."
