FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta said on Tuesday that the club will officially announce the signing of German forward Karim Adeyemi from Bundesliga giant Dortmund on Wednesday, when the player will also be presented to fans and the media.

Laporta confirmed the news upon his arrival at Barcelona airport after attending the World Cup final. His trip to New York was the main reason for the delay in announcing Adeyemi's signing after the 24-year-old arrived in Barcelona last week.
Adeyemi, who can play either on the wing or through the middle, joins the La Liga champion after scoring 36 goals in 146 appearances for his former club. He will help replace Robert Lewandowski, whose contract with Barcelona expired at the end of June, while Roony Bardghji is likely to be sent out on loan after failing to secure a regular starting place last season.
The 24-year-old, who has earned 11 caps for Germany, is Barcelona's second signing of the summer following the arrival of England international Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United.
