Beijing's Jingshan Park hosts potted landscape exhibition

Editor's note: More than 100 potted landscapes are on display at the eighth Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Potted Landscape Exhibition, part of the 16th Beijing Fine Penjing Exhibition, at Jingshan Park in Beijing, running from July 18 to early August.

The art of potted landscape, or penjing, is a subtle arrangement of plants and rockery that originated in the Tang dynasty (618-907). It brings the beauty of nature into a garden pot for viewers to enjoy, and is often praised as a three-dimensional painting or a silent poem.
