Chongqing is turning its cultural heritage and ecological resources into new tourism experiences.

In Yuzhong district, the city has developed the historic urban landscape of “rivers, cliffs, streets and caves,” transforming its distinctive mountainous terrain and “8D” urban features into a unique city experience for visitors.

In Nanchuan district, Jinfo Mountain, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site, has become a focus of ecological tourism development, with efforts to showcase its forests, biodiversity and natural landscapes.

At Dazu Rock Carvings, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site, digital technologies have helped bring ancient cliff sculptures to modern audiences, making the centuries-old artworks more accessible to visitors from China and abroad.

It has also launched a range of tourism products that highlight local cuisine, cultural experiences and digital services, making it easier for visitors to explore Chongqing.

Red tourism, urban night tours, rural tourism, and intangible cultural heritage experiences have further expanded Chongqing's tourism offerings.
