Backed by strong national policies and local government support, Ningbo Yongxin Optics Co. Ltd. is playing a key role in advancing China's high-end optical manufacturing through technological innovation and the development of homegrown optical solutions.

For nearly three decades, Yongxin Optics has specialized in the development and production of optical microscopes and optical components, supporting China's efforts to build homegrown high-end scientific instruments for life sciences, medical optics and industrial inspection.

As a key supplier to global giants Zeiss, Leica and Nikon, the company also supplies key optical components for emerging industries such as autonomous driving, industrial automation, artificial intelligence and professional imaging.

The company's growth has been driven by both technological innovation and strong support from government policies.

"The Ningbo government has provided strong support for enterprises like us," said Cui Zhiying, deputy general manager and director of the research institute of Yongxin Optics. "The government has also offered substantial support in attracting talent."

Since 2009, Yongxin Optics has maintained long-term research cooperation with professors from Zhejiang University, contributing to major national strategic projects.

"National policies have provided research funding and support, helping enterprises overcome key technological bottlenecks," said Cao Chenhui, director of the company's securities department.

Cai Zhifeng, director of the Industry and Information Technology Bureau of Ningbo National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone, said Yongxin Optics' development reflects China's approach to nurturing innovative enterprises.

"Enterprises are supported step by step — from technological breakthroughs, to domestic substitution, and then to expanding the market share," Cai said. "It is a process of moving from 0 to 1, from 1 to 10, and from 10 to 100."
