Messi goals help Inter Miami start Leagues Cup in rout

Lionel Messi scored twice as Inter Miami eased to a 4-2 home win over San Luis in the Leagues Cup on Wednesday.

Messi netted both goals in the first half after thunderstorms in the Miami area delayed kickoff by around 30 minutes.

Telasco Segovia and Micael also struck for the Florida outfit while David Rodriguez and Rafa Llorente were on target for the visitors.

The result leaves Inter Miami second in Group B, trailing first-placed Charlotte on goal difference.

The Leagues Cup is an annual competition featuring clubs from Major League Soccer and the Liga MX.
