China's Wang Xiyu reached the women's singles last 16 at the Cincinnati Open for the first time on Tuesday as her third-round opponent Elina Svitolina of Ukraine withdrew.
Wang, 25, will now face 20th-seeded American Madison Keys for a quarterfinal berth.
Fellow Chinese Wang Xinyu lost to world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus 6-1, 6-3 in the round of 32.
In the women's doubles, Chinese pair Zhang Shuai and Jiang Xinyu defeated America's Quinn Gleason and Norway's Ulrikke Eikeri 6-1, 6-2 to advance into the quarterfinals.
