Manuel Lanzini scored late as Velez Sarsfield salvaged a 2-2 draw at River Plate in Argentina's Clausura tournament on Sunday.
Former Atletico Madrid forward Angel Correa put River ahead with an 11th-minute strike and Thiago Silvero gifted the hosts a second goal by inadvertently turning the ball into his own net just before halftime.
Diego Valdes pulled a goal back with a clinical finish just after the hour after combining with Matias Pellegrini.
Former West Ham United playmaker Lanzini equalized in the 79th minute as he latched onto Elias Gomez's cross with a header into the bottom right corner.
Velez now has 12 points from six games, one point behind Zone A leader Instituto Cordoba. River is 14th in Zone B with four points so far.
Elsewhere in Argentina's top flight on Sunday, Sarmiento won 2-0 at home to Estudiantes, Defensa y Justicia prevailed 2-1 at Belgrano, and Boca Juniors drew 1-1 at Racing.
