Samuel Lino scored twice as Flamengo showed its title credentials with a 3-0 home win over Botafogo in Brazil's Serie A on Sunday.
Lino opened the scoring with a clinical finish after Jorginho's through ball and he doubled the advantage with a low strike after Jorge Carrascal's pass on the counterattack.
Colombian midfielder Carrascal put the result beyond doubt by combining with Everton before firing a shot past goalkeeper Gabriel Batista.
The result leaves Flamengo second with 48 points, four behind leader Palmeiras and with a game in hand. Botafogo is 12th in the 20-team standings with 30 points.
Elsewhere in Brazil's Serie A on Sunday, Fluminense drew 3-3 at Athletico Paranaense, Santos won 1-0 at Corinthians, Mirassol drew 1-1 at home to Palmeiras, Gremio prevailed 3-1 at home to Chapecoense and Bahia edged to a 3-2 home win over Internacional.
