Jorge Sampaoli leaves Talleres

Former Argentina and Chile manager Jorge Sampaoli has parted ways with Talleres after just seven games in charge, the Argentine top-flight club said on Sunday.

The announcement followed Talleres' goalless home draw with Central Cordoba on Saturday, a result that left the club last in the Clausura tournament's 15-team Zona A standings.

"We thank Jorge and his entire coaching staff for their professionalism and commitment during this spell in charge of the first team, for which everyone had different expectations for in terms of results," read a statement on the club's official website.

Sampaoli led the Cordoba-based club to one win, two draws and four defeats after replacing Carlos Tevez in June.

The 66-year-old assumed responsibility for the team's poor form in a social media post late on Sunday.

"Sometimes things don't work out," he said. "In football, as in life, the only way to solve problems is to work. Put your head and body into it for as long as necessary until you find solutions. We couldn't. There's a club and tons of fans who, understandably, expected things to turn out differently."
