RB Leipzig sign Marc Guiu from Chelsea

RB Leipzig have signed Spanish striker Marc Guiu from Chelsea on a contract until 2031 as the Bundesliga club strengthen their attacking options, Leipzig announced on Tuesday.

The 20-year-old striker will wear the number nine shirt after leaving Chelsea following two seasons in England, where he made 29 competitive appearances and scored eight goals for the Blues.

Guiu said Leipzig's track record with young players and the club's ambitions were important factors in his decision. "The move to RB Leipzig is exactly the right step for me," he said. "The people in charge made a great effort to sign me and showed me a clear plan in our talks about the role I can play here."

Guiu came through Barcelona's youth academy before making his professional debut for the Catalan club in October 2023 at the age of 17. He went on to make seven competitive appearances and score twice before moving to Chelsea in the summer of 2024.
