Real Sociedad held on with 10 men to beat Elche 3-2 in a dramatic La Liga game Monday, with Luka Sucic scoring a last-minute winner after the hosts had fought back from two goals down.
Job Ochieng and Yangel Herrera capitalized on defensive errors to put Real Sociedad 2-0 ahead at halftime.
The visitors thought they had made it 3-0 in the 62nd minute when Sucic calmly finished a counterattack, but a VAR review led to the goal being disallowed and Real Sociedad defender Jon Martin being sent off for a handball in the buildup.
Elche drew level through Thomas Lemar and Fer Nino before Sucic struck with a stunning shot in the final minute to secure all three points and leave the hosts without a win this season.
Elsewhere, Getafe and Celta played out a 1-1 draw in Monday's other game.
Martin Satriano opened the scoring with a smart finish midway through the first half. Celta enjoyed plenty of possession but struggled to create clear chances until Carl Starfelt equalized with a powerful header from a corner in the 57th minute.
Getafe was reduced to 10 men when Zaid Romero received a second yellow card in the 67th minute. Celta pressed for a winner in the closing stages but struggled to break down the disciplined hosts.
