China's second team won silver in the mixed speed relay at the World Climbing Series Guiyang in southwest China's Guizhou province on Saturday.
The Chinese pair of Zhou Ziyu and Zhang Mengli finished second behind Indonesia's first team, while the United States' first team took bronze.
China's first team, featuring Yang Jie and Mu Yuju, also advanced from qualifying to the evening's knockout rounds. The two Chinese teams met in the opening round, with China's second team prevailing in 12.62 seconds.
In the semifinals, China's second team faced the United States' first team of mixed relay world record holders Samuel Watson and Emma Hunt. A mistake by the U.S. pair allowed China to advance in 11.82 seconds.
In the final, Indonesia's first team maintained a strong rhythm throughout to clock 11.35 seconds. China's second team made a mistake during the climb and finished in 14.85 seconds.

"I feel very excited!" Zhou said after the competition, adding that the result exceeded his expectations as he had not expected to win silver. Zhang said she was satisfied with her recent form and attributed the result mainly to trusting her teammate and maintaining a relaxed mindset.
Nursamsa Raharjati of Indonesia's first team said the gold medal was a rare achievement for him.
"There were many strong opponents tonight, and my partner and I had to give our all to win," he said, adding that they would rest well and strive for better results in upcoming competitions.
The final day of the World Climbing Series Guiyang on Sunday will feature the men's and women's speed relay events.
