"Flags Billowing Over Jinggangshan Mountains," an XR immersive experience that uses virtual-real fusion technology to bring China's revolutionary history to life, drew crowds at the recent 2026 China International Fair for Trade in Services in Beijing.

A representative of Sky Limit Entertainment explained that the company collaborated with the MAIπ platform on the study tour experience, recreating scenes of Jinggangshan at a 1:1 scale. Wearing XR headsets, visitors stepped into the historical scene and experienced the spirit of Jinggangshan and the Long March.

The project traces the history of the Jinggangshan revolutionary base, recreating key scenes from the Huangyangjie Defensive Battle and restoring details of Red Army life and military-civilian cooperation. Using location-based entertainment VR technology, it supports group participation in battle interactions, combining learning about the history of the Communist Party of China with immersive experiences.

The experience was part of the "Grand Audiovisual Beijing" exhibition at the cultural tourism services thematic exhibition, hosted by the Beijing Municipal Radio and Television Bureau. The exhibition showcased achievements in content creation, technology, industrial integration and security, with displays including glasses-free 3D, 8K ultra-high-definition live broadcasts, XR glasses and AI agents.

An official from the bureau said it will continue building on the "Grand Audiovisual Beijing" brand, focusing on "content + technology + scene + consumption" to create a demonstration model for culture, commerce, tourism and sports integration.

The exhibition, which concluded Sunday, brought together 413 exhibitors, including 49 foreign-funded institutions, 84 Fortune 500 and industry-leading companies, and 48 listed companies. Exhibitors covered the entire industrial chain from traditional culture and museum innovation to digital tourism, film and television, and overseas cultural promotion.
