On Sept. 2, the 11th Section of the UHV AC Transmission Line Project in the Panxi area (Panzhihua + Liangshan) of Sichuan Province, undertaken by Shaanxi Power Transmission and Transformation Engineering Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Shaanxi T&T Company"), entered the final sprint stage of construction for the advance stringing section. Currently, 14 tower-erecting teams are working simultaneously at multiple sites to ensure the project progresses on schedule.

The Panxi UHV AC Project is the first UHV AC transmission and transformation project commenced by State Grid during the 15th Five-Year Plan period and a key energy infrastructure project of Sichuan Province. It serves as a vital backbone corridor for large-scale delivery of clean energy from the Panxi area. Upon completion, the project will markedly enhance the capacity to transmit green power -- including hydropower, wind power, and photovoltaic power -- from western Sichuan to the load centers in Chengdu and Chongqing, holding strategic significance for optimizing the power grid structure in Sichuan and ensuring regional energy security.
The 11th Section undertaken by Shaanxi T&T Company is located in Leshan City, Sichuan, with an equivalent single-circuit line length of 133 kilometers and 276 new transmission towers. According to scheduling plans, the construction of advance stringing section will officially begin on Sept. 11, leaving an extremely tight construction window period with high safety risks and technical demands.
This stringing section involves 22 transmission towers. Faced with prominent challenges such as large tower dimensions, high center of gravity, and high difficulty in erection, Shaanxi T&T Company has innovatively adopted a combined construction method using mobile crane and ground-mounted double-rocker holding pole, which greatly increases the proportion of mechanized operations, effectively reduces risks associated with high-altitude work, and improves tower erection efficiency. At present, the 14 tower-erecting teams on site are carrying out backward scheduling and visualized wall-chart operation in accordance with a mechanism featuring daily scheduling and weekly review. Tower erection and preparatory tasks for stringing are proceeding in parallel to ensure seamless connection between processes.
Currently, the erection of all towers in this advance stringing section has entered the final sprint stage, with all preparatory work being completed in an orderly manner. Shaanxi T&T Company will strictly uphold safety and quality standards and go all out to ensure the node tasks of the advance stringing section are successfully completed on schedule.
