Co-hosted by the Baoding Municipal People's Government and China Construction Metal Structure Association, the expo covers an overall exhibition area of 60,000 square meters across four exhibition halls, and has attracted more than 500 domestic and international companies from over 50 countries and regions.

Michael Schumann, chairman of the board of the German Federal Association for Economic Development and Foreign Trade, spoke highly of the expo in an interview with China.org.cn.

Schumann described the expo as a significant and impressive event, saying it had created a valuable international platform for exchange by bringing together policymakers, researchers and industry professionals to advance the green building sector.

He noted that the global building stock consumes nearly 40% of the world's energy and accounts for as much as 30% of carbon dioxide emissions, underscoring the urgency of green and low-carbon transformation in the sector.

Germany boasts a strong presence at the expo this year, with more than 40 companies taking part. Among them is Roto Window and Door Technology. Xing Xuan, sales manager for the company's Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei branch, said the firm hopes to use the expo as a platform to connect with more industry resources and expand its network of partners.

In recent years, Gaobeidian has identified the green, smart and healthy building sector as an important driver of economic growth.

The city's industrial cluster now comprises 672 upstream and downstream enterprises, with combined operating revenue reaching 13.21 billion yuan ($1.97 billion) in 2025.
