The contest theme is Hand in Hand, Heart to Heart, Together for Modernization. Participants may submit entries under two Main Sections and one Special Section.
Main Section 1: Common Development
This section highlights the tangible outcomes of the practical cooperation between China and ASEAN in pursuing common development and modernization and advancing collaboration in areas such as trade and economy, new energy, digital economy, sustainable development, and scientific and technological innovation.
Main Section 2: People-to-People Exchanges
This section showcases the vibrant interactions and growing bonds between the peoples of China and ASEAN in fields such as tourism, education, culture, media, sports, women, and youth. We particularly look forward to inspiring stories from young students about their study and life experiences in each other's countries.
Special Section: Micro-Drama
This section accepts micro-dramas depicting friendly exchanges between ASEAN and China. Works should feature a clear storyline and a coherent, complete plot. Use of AI technology is permitted.
Entry Requirements
Genres: Short documentaries, micro-dramas, vlogs, interviews, animations, etc.
Duration: Up to 5 minutes per video (micro-drama series excepted; series must provide at least three episodes, each 30 seconds or longer).
Languages: Multilingual entries are accepted but must include English subtitles.
Technical Specifications:
Minimum resolution: 1280 × 720
Maximum file size: 500 MB
Formats: MPG, MPEG, AVI, MOV, WMV, MP4
Submission Methods
Email: Entries can be submitted to acvideocontest@163.com as email attachments. Email subject line format: "Country–Author Name–Video Title." Alternatively, you may provide a link and password to a cloud storage service (link must be permanent) via email. Recommended platforms include Baidu Netdisk, WeTransfer, and Google Drive.
TikTok: Participants may also submit via TikTok by searching the hashtag #HiASEANChina and uploading their entries through the official topic page.
When submitting your video via either method, you should also send the Entry Form and Letter of Commitment to the official contest email. This is necessary for us to contact you and facilitate the distribution of cash prizes and certificates. (Click the link to download the Entry Form and Letter of Commitment, and fill them out completely as required. Incomplete information will render the entry ineligible for evaluation.)
Eligibility
Individuals, teams, and institutions from ASEAN countries and China are eligible to participate. Each individual or team may submit up to 3 entries.
Submission Period
December 15, 2025, to February 28, 2026 24:00 (Beijing Time).
Main Section:
Gold Award (1 winner, USD 1,000 and a certificate)
Silver Award (2 winners, USD 800 each and certificates)
Bronze Award (3 winners, USD 500 each and certificates)
Excellence Award (20 winners and certificates)
Special Section (Micro-drama):
Special Award (3 winners, USD 400 each and certificates).
Excellence Award (10 winners and certificates)
Dissemination of Shortlisted Entries
Shortlisted entries will be promoted through various platforms, including but not limited to:
1. The official website of the Contest and its awards ceremony.
2. Major ASEAN–China conference platforms.
3. Websites and social media accounts of the co-hosts:
* Mission of the People's Republic of China to ASEAN
* ASEAN Secretariat
* National Radio and Television Administration of China
* China International Communications Group
4. Rebroadcast by authoritative partner organizations in ASEAN Member States and China.
5. Major video platforms such as TikTok, Facebook, Douyin, Xigua Video and etc.
Copyright and Other Rights Requirements
Entries must be original works of the participant, with independent intellectual property rights. Plagiarism and copying are strictly prohibited. Filmed footage, music, scripts, photographs, images, portraits, visual elements, etc., used in the submitted works must not infringe upon the lawful rights and interests of any third party. In case of any infringement or legal dispute arising therefrom, the participant shall bear all responsibility, and the entry will be disqualified from evaluation or award. If any loss is caused to the organizers as a result, the responsible party shall bear full liability. Participants must grant the full copyright of their submitted works to the organizers for use. The organizers possess the right to use shortlisted works for non-profit activities in China and ASEAN countries without compensation. Participation in this contest constitutes authorization for the organizers to use the works within the above scope. The authorization period is 50 years, starting from 2025.
Selection Process
The selection process includes three rounds: preliminary, secondary, and final review. Main Section and Special Section entries will be evaluated separately. After the submission period ends, the contest organizing committee will form an international jury comprising experts in culture and communication from China and ASEAN for the final review. Winners will be notified via email. The list of winners will be announced on the contest website and at the award ceremony. Shortlisted videos will be showcased on various platforms. Winners will have the opportunity to be invited to the ASEAN-China Short Video Creation Camp. Non-selected entrants will not be notified individually.
