With vivid pictures and fine articles in different languages, CIIC's live broadcast on the opening ceremony of the 2010 Shanghai Expo lasted 10 hours. On May 1, CIIC introduced a 15-hour live broadcast program called “First Opening Day,” which reported stories about the Shanghai Expo’s opening ceremony through various media, including talk shows, live media feedback and video report. This program’s PCU (peak concurrent users) hit 900,000, setting CIIC’s record for the most concurrent users during the holidays.

As one of the main live broadcast media networks at the Shanghai World Expo, CIIC have set up a 40-square-meter studio at the Expo. China.org.cn is also be the Web site with the largest number of on-the-spot reporters, totaled above 40.
