A press conference for the 8th China (Ordos) International Cashmere and Wool Exhibition, organized by the China Wool Textile Association, was held in Beijing on May 16. Under the theme "Linking the World, Empowering the Future," the exhibition is scheduled to take place from July 18-20 in the Dongsheng district of Ordos.
As a globally renowned hub for the cashmere industry, Ordos is home to over 360 cashmere enterprises, accounting for 50% of China's and 33% of the world's total cashmere processing capacity. The city has nurtured Erdos Group, a leading enterprise with a market value exceeding 100 billion yuan, and has played a pivotal role in establishing international cashmere standards. Building on past successes, this year's exhibition will introduce innovations to create a world-class industry event integrating trade cooperation, technological empowerment and cultural tourism experiences.
The exhibition will feature leading international brands — including those from the United Kingdom, France and Italy — as well as domestic industry giants, with over 200 exhibitors expected. It will showcase an innovative industrial model integrating "Global Design, Chinese Smart Manufacturing and Worldwide Markets," while introducing the latest technological advancements and equipment across the cashmere industry chain.
A series of high-profile events will be held concurrently, including the 2025 China Cashmere Industry High-Quality Development Conference, the 9th International Symposium on Cashmere Identification Technologies (ISCIT), and a special forum on cross-border e-commerce strategies for global cashmere trade. The event will also feature the "Young·Fiber" 2025 China Innovation and Creative Design Competition alongside the 2025 World Model Contest China Finals, driving the industry's transition toward intelligent, green and high-end development.
Beyond its commercial offerings, the exhibition will feature specially curated cultural experiences, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in a creative blend of heritage and modern industry.
On behalf of the Dongsheng district government, Deputy Mayor Wang Huichun extended a cordial invitation: "This July, Dongsheng will open its arms to friends from around the world. Together, let us witness this pivotal moment in cashmere industry development and join hands to create a future of mutual prosperity."
