During the 2026 Spring Festival holiday, Ordos in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region reported a total traffic volume of 1.39 million vehicle trips, as local transport authorities implemented comprehensive measures to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient travel.
From Feb. 15 to Feb. 23, toll stations across the city handled a cumulative 1.39 million outbound vehicles, including 1.17 million passenger vehicles and 220,000 freight vehicles. Inbound traffic totaled 530,000 vehicles, comprising 460,000 passenger vehicles and 70,000 freight vehicles. Throughout the holiday, authorities actively enforced the "green channel" policy for fresh agricultural products, providing priority passage for 1,011 eligible vehicles and reducing toll fees by 210,000 yuan.
Traffic volumes on expressways as well as first- and second-class highways saw notable growth, particularly among private cars. Expressways recorded 360,000 trips by passenger vehicles with seven seats or fewer, with toll reductions totaling 15.43 million yuan. On first- and second-class highways, similar vehicles made 810,000 trips, enjoying toll reductions of 11.9 million yuan. The combined toll reduction for small passenger vehicles reached 27.33 million yuan, effectively easing travel costs for residents.
Through strengthened traffic management, improved services, and efficient policy implementation, Ordos ensured smooth holiday travel while enhancing the overall travel experience for the public.
