Dongsheng District in Ordos City, north China's Inner Mongolia, drove a consumption boom during the 2026 Spring Festival holiday by integrating traditional folk culture with cultural tourism, retail, and logistics.
A series of events were held across the district, including festive markets, food festivals, and themed lantern exhibitions. During the week-long holiday, 22 key enterprises under district monitoring reported a total turnover of 75.6583 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 3.77%.
The district also recorded 727,500 tourist visits during the holiday, generating 508 million yuan in tourism revenue, as cultural and tourism activities continued to fuel consumer spending.
