A major industrial wastewater treatment and reclaimed water reuse project in the Ordos High-tech Industrial Development Zone is nearing operation.

With a total investment of 2.8 billion yuan, the project is a key supporting facility for the area's new energy industrial upgrading. It will mainly serve companies with high-quality water supply and industrial wastewater treatment needs, including photovoltaic and cloud computing projects in the zone's equipment manufacturing base.
The clean water treatment system is expected to complete integrated testing by June 30, while the wastewater treatment system is scheduled to complete testing by Aug. 30.
Once completed, the project will be able to treat nearly 72,000 metric tons of water per day, roughly equivalent to the capacity of 36 standard swimming pools. The photovoltaic wastewater treatment capacity alone will reach 37,000 metric tons per day.
The project is described as one of the country's largest zero-discharge industrial wastewater projects by investment scale, and its photovoltaic wastewater treatment capacity is also among the largest in China.
By recycling industrial wastewater and improving water efficiency, the project is expected to provide stronger environmental support for the high-tech zone's industrial development and contribute to greener growth in Ordos.
