A new energy materials project in Dalad Banner, Ordos, has shipped its first batch of products, marking steady progress in local efforts to strengthen the new energy industrial chain.

Operated by Inner Mongolia Juhuang New Materials Technology Co., Ltd., the project is designed to produce 5,000 metric tons of silicon monoxide precursor annually. Trial production began in March, the first order was loaded and delivered in April, and stable mass production continued in May. Construction of the project's second phase is expected to start in June.

Using silicon and silicon dioxide as major raw materials, the project produces silicon monoxide precursor through advanced processes including vacuum sintering.

The material is a key raw material for next-generation lithium battery anodes used in high-end power batteries and electric vehicles. It can help improve battery energy density, cycle life and fast-charging performance.

Once fully operational, the project is expected to generate annual output value of 130 million yuan (US$18 million), laying a foundation for the development of Dalad Banner's silicon-based anode materials industry and supporting the upgrading of the local new energy supply chain.
