The sixth Yellow River Great Bend Culture and Tourism Festival opened on Friday at the Xiangshawan scenic area in Dalad Banner, Ordos.

Bringing together cultural resources from nine provincial-level regions along the Yellow River, the festival features live performances, intangible cultural heritage experiences, regional food and tourism promotions. The event aims to showcase the history and cultural diversity of the Yellow River basin in an engaging and accessible way.

The 2026 Yellow River Intangible Cultural Heritage Food Season also opened during the festival. Visitors can sample regional specialties from across the Yellow River basin and explore a selection of local agricultural and livestock products. The program uses food as a window into the customs, traditions and everyday life of communities along the river.

In recent years, Ordos has worked to strengthen its tourism appeal through Yellow River culture and desert tourism. By expanding its range of cultural and tourism products and promoting cooperation across the Yellow River basin, the city is bringing the region's cultural heritage to a wider audience.
