2026 Ordos Warm City Naadam opens in Otog Front Banner

The 2026 Ordos Warm City Naadam opened in Otog Front Banner on Aug 6, bringing together traditional sports, cultural performances, tourism activities and local markets. The event runs through Aug 10.

At the opening ceremony, delegations from across Ordos presented displays highlighting the distinctive industries, customs and traditions of their home areas. Cultural performances were followed by a drone show and fireworks.

The festival features traditional Mongolian sports, including wrestling, archery, horse racing and pacing horse competitions, as well as Mongolian chess. The competitions are open to participants from across the country.

A wide range of cultural and tourism activities is also being held during the festival. The program includes grassland volleyball matches, performances by Ordos Ulan Muqir art troupes, a citywide square dancing competition, a local specialty market and open-air stage shows.

By combining traditional culture with sports, tourism and commerce, the event offers visitors opportunities to watch performances, take part in competitions, explore local products and experience the cultural heritage of Ordos.
