Young people from 17 countries joined local residents for a Mid-Autumn Festival cultural event at Ulan Mulun Lake Square in Kangbashi district, Ordos, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, Sept. 23.

The event brought together international students, local pupils, volunteers, police officers and other community members to experience Chinese festival traditions and learn more about the culture of Ordos.

Activities included lacquer fan painting, Mongolian headdress making, lantern making, paper cutting and calligraphy. Visitors could also try traditional Chinese clothing and take part in games.

International students from several Beijing universities joined local performers for an evening gala featuring the morin khuur, poetry recitations, dances and songs. Chinese and international performers sang "The Moon Represents My Heart" together, highlighting the Mid-Autumn Festival's themes of reunion and friendship.

By combining traditional crafts, grassland culture and international exchange, the event offered overseas visitors a closer look at Chinese traditions while creating opportunities for people from different cultural backgrounds to connect.
