Seven cooperation accords were signed with Mexico
on Monday to facilitate trade, tourism and judiciary exchanges.
Vice President Zeng
Qinghong attended the signing ceremony in Mexico City with
Mexican President Vicente Fox. Beforehand, the two held talks and
reached consensus on boosting ties.
Yesterday, Zeng went on to Cancun in southeastern
Mexico, and he winds his visit up today.
The accords covered areas including: criminal
judicial assistance, maritime transportation, Chinese traveling to
Mexico, sanitation and plant sanitation, quarantine requirements
for fruits, and loans.
This is the first leg of Zeng’s five-nation tour of
Latin America and the Caribbean. He will go on to visit Peru,
Venezuela, Trinidad and Tobago, and Jamaica.
Zeng is also to attend the opening ceremony of the
first ministerial-level meeting of the China-Caribbean Economy and
Trade Cooperation Forum 2005 on February 2 in Kingston, capital of
Jamaica.
