Oceanological Output Value Hits US$155.27 Bn

The total output value of China's oceanological industry reached 1.28 trillion yuan (US$155.27 billion) in 2004, according to statistics from the Ministry of Land and Resources.

According to the ministry, the added value of the oceanological industry stood at 526.8 billion yuan (US$63.7 billion) last year, accounting for 3.9 percent of the country's GDP.

The report said the output value of the oceanological in areas around the Bohai Sea reached 411.6 billion yuan (US$49.7 billion). That in areas around the Yangtze River Delta stood at 416.9 billion yuan (US$50.4 billion), account for 32.5 percent of the country's GDP.
