Film Tycoons Bid for Olympics' Opening Ceremony

Bidding for proposals of the 2008 Olympic Games' opening ceremony has unfolded worldwide by now, with international film tycoons actively involved in, according to Friday's Beijing Youth Daily.

Altogether eight organizations from home and abroad have competed for the bidding.

The participants also include China's renowned film director Zhang Yimou, Hollywood director Steven Spielberg and experts involved in Athens and Sydney Olympics' operations and several domestic designing companies, according to Beijing Vice Mayor Liu Jingming, who is also vice president of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2008 Olympic Games.

Beijing attaches great importance to the 2008 Olympic Games as it has carried out cooperation with many countries that once hosted Olympic Games.
