Beijing to Start Recruiting Olympic Volunteers
Adjust font size:

Beijing Olympic organizers will start in August to recruit volunteers for the 2008 Games.

According to the Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2008 Olympics Games(BOCOG), altogether 100,000 volunteers will be needed before and during the 2008 Beijing Games, with 70,000 serving the 2008 Summer Olympics and 30,000 for the Paralympics.

Li Shixin, a BOCOG official in charge of the volunteers' recruitment work, said that BOCOG will need to map out detailed procedures for the recruitment work before recruiting the first batch of volunteers in August.

"People who are interested can submit applications via the internet," said Li.

The Beijing Olympic Volunteers Program was officially launched last June.
