Chinese, Japanese Trade Unions to Cooperate on Desert Greening Project

According to the agreement signed by the All-China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU) and the workers union of Fujitsu, a world leading IT company in Japan, Fujitsu will invest 10 million Japanese yen in the desert greening projects of China.

This was the second agreement between the two sides on desert greening cooperation.

In accordance with the agreement from 2001 to 2005, Fujitsu workers union had sent more than 200 members to north China's Hebei Province and spent 12 million Japanese yen planting 170,000 trees.

Under this project, 50 hectares of local desert have been made green.

Besides the desert greening projects, the Fujitsu workers union have also invest more than 20 million Japanese yen to set up five primary schools and more than 100 libraries at China's Hebei, Anhui, Yunnan, Hubei and Jilin provinces.
