Energy Saving Exhibition Opens in Beijing

The 2006 Beijing Energy Saving and Environmental Protection Exhibition opened on Tuesday at the National Agricultural Exhibition Center.

The six-day exhibition, themed "Energy Saving and Development", has on display the latest energy saving technologies and products from home and abroad.

Liu Qi, secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, and Vice Premier Zeng Peiyan attended the opening ceremony and were given a tour of the exhibition.

On display are energy saving concepts and devices for industry, transportation and housing. There are also exhibits on water conservation, renewable resources management, environmental protection and the green Olympics project.

The exhibition is sponsored by the Beijing People's Government and supported by several organizations including the National Development and Reform Commission.
