Zhujiajiao, a traditional watertown
Adjust font size:

Zhujiajiao, established around 1,700 years ago, lies to the south of the Yangtze River and was created as a typical ancient water town. The ancient site is easy of access located as it is only one hour by bus to the west of downtown Shanghai

Zhujiajiao contains many feasts for the eyes such as well-preserved examples of Ming and Qing architecture, old stone bridges and pittoresque streets. The photos here were taken by China.org.cn staff reporter Li Shen on May 17, 2007.
