Germany-based Siemens is one of the world's largest electrical and electronics companies, and one of the most well-known and respected companies in China. It operates in the following four business fields: industry, energy, healthcare, infrastructure and cities. Its business ties with China can be dated back to 1872, when the company delivered the first pointer telegraph to China.

So far, Siemens has established 16 R&D centers, 69 operating companies and 65 regional offices in China, covering all of its main business areas. Siemens China, whose headquarters are located in Chaoyang District, Beijing, has a total of about 30,000 employees across the country, making it one of the largest foreign-invested employers in the country.

It has been a reliable and trustworthy partner for various industrial sectors in China, including information and communication, automation and control, electrical, transport, healthcare, lighting and home appliances. In the 2011 fiscal year, Siemens China raked in €6.39 billion in sales, a 16 percent increase, and €6.24 billion in new orders, an 18 percent increase. Siemens China has become No. 2 for revenue growth among Siemens regional organizations worldwide, indicating its fast expansion in China. Siemens has contributed a lot to the sustainable development of China with its environmental portfolio and innovative solutions.
