The Blue-and-White porcelain changed a lot in tone during Kangxi's ruling period, from fresh bright to murky grey, finally returning to a clean, bright look. The Kangxi Blue-and-White wares have a reputation for using many kinds of blue, making the porcelain look multi-colored. This bowl above, in distinctly layered blue, sold for 3,450,000 RMB at the China Guardian 2013 Spring Auctions, is an excellent example of Imperial Blue-and-White ware during the Kangxi period.
